BYS Graphic Makeup Palette (shade: Cheetah)

I bought this without thinking much (I regret getting most of my BYS products) and it lived untouched in my makeup pouches for a few months since I couldn’t figure out how to use them.

Six out of eight of the pans in this palette are glitters which are too many for me. There are only two mattes and it’s a very light coral and a very light peach that were essentially the same shade. I don’t think it was possible to create a normal everyday look with this palette because of its clear lack of neutral colors. I bought it anyway since I didn’t realize that. This palette stayed untouched in my pouch for a long time until recently when I realized that I could use these glitters beyond eye makeup.

In terms of its color choices’ integrity, I think it’s a terrible eyeshadow palette. But it’s not an eyeshadow palette, it’s a makeup palette. It’s for my whole face. That’s why the gold glitter is so big— no one is applying shiny gold glitters as blush, they’re using it for highlighter actually. My mind was blown.

I regularly use the light gold glitter as highlighter. There’s barely any base to it which I guess makes sense since it’s probably actually meant to be a highlighter. I like the light gold shine and I think it suits the peachy/coral/brown looks I tend to wear.

The silver glitter actually has a baby pink shine to it which is the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen. I don’t use it much since I feel it’s too cold for my regular looks but I like to pair it with my occasional darker, gray, mauvy looks.

The dark brass glitter is very bold. It has a pigmented base that’s very blendable. I use it for glam looks for special occasions. It’s not my favorite color and I don’t like how it’s the only semi-pigmented glitter on this palette that works well as an eyeshadow and not just some topper.

The two mattes and the coral shimmery blush are pretty much three of the same shades, one just has glitter in it. I see the difference between the two mattes but it’s very very slight. I do appreciate how finely milled the mattes are. It’s soft and blendable. I actually use the two mattes for blush sometimes when I want to be orange.

Regarding the coral shimmery blush, the shade is similar to Betty from the Chu Chu Beauty Heart Blush Duo in Pretty Betty but peachier/more orange, lighter and way less pigmented. I like the color and I like that it’s unpigmented but I’m not really a fan of shimmery blushes.

I actually really like the pearly matte nude. I use it as a base for eyeshadow and I think the subtle glitter is really cute.

The white pan is actually also a pearly matte which I realized only recently. I don’t think this shade is that good though since it’s not pigmented like what’s the point.

I also want to note that the glitters are really fine. They’re not like the glitters you’d find on douyin or K-Beauty palettes. They look like shimmers, but at the same time they don’t have that satin finish that shimmers have. It’s dry and patchy and the glitter particles are very sparse. I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing. I guess it adds to its versatility in usage. Just control whether you want it to be a glitter or a shimmer based on its application, but it’s hard to achieve the latter.

Overall as a makeup palette, it’s okay. I don’t like that it’s basically all just glitters, has one useless unpigmented white pan, and three pans of the same shade. But I like it for being versatile I guess. I thought that if I actually took my time to think before buying this palette, I would have bought a Rom&nd Better Than Palette instead for around the same price (800 PHP), but if I did, I would have to buy a separate highlighter and an orange blush. With this palette, I guess I’ve cut costs? Not that much, but whatever, I don’t regret buying this palette and I won’t have trouble using it up. I wouldn’t recommend this makeup palette to anyone though.
