Chu Chu Beauty Heart Blush Duo (shade: Sweet Missy)

Sweet is a light orange and Missy is a bright neutral red.

I’ve been wanting to experiment with reds and so I took the chance and bought Sweet Missy when it was on sale. I was hoping Missy to be a really red orange, i.e. a red with a warm undertone, but alas having swatched it myself and doing some research on red shades, it seems to be at the very least a neutral-cool red.

I was a little disappointed with the slight coolness of Missy. It isn’t something that I’m too happy about, but at least it’s not so obviously pink like Pretty Betty.

But perhaps the slightly cool Missy is not a weak point of the blush duo. A warm expanding shade being paired with a cool contour shade probably generates some sort of color harmony but I’m not knowledgeable enough to notice it on myself. However I have read someone state that Pretty Betty is warmer compared to Sweet Missy which is more neutral, to which I agree. Sweet may indeed even out Missy’s coolness, allowing it to be neutral-warm over all.

I had high hopes but I’m satisfied with Sweet Missy. I’ve implied Sweet Missy to be inferior to Pretty Betty in the older version of my Heart Blush review (that’s probably gone now), but finally having used it convinced me that Sweet Missy is just as pretty, if not prettier than Pretty Betty. We should pit these two beautiful women against each other until they melt from rage and envy and combine together to create one mega beautiful woman.
