Holy Grails
"Holy Grails" are what you call products that work the best for you, basically saying "this product is the best in terms of accessibility, performance and price for me". Having declared these products as holy grails, it doesn't make sense to search for other products in the mentioned categories.
- lip gloss: Detail Glass Stain – Sweetener, Prim, Dark Roast
- lip liner: Detail Lip Trace – Baby, Praline/Buttercream
- lip bullet: Squad Mellow Matte – Café Au Lait ♥
- mascara: Shawill Amazing Curls
- eyeliner: JMCY gel eyeliner pencil
- eyebrow pencil: Careline Wow Brow Liner – Espresso, Almond
Base
- Foundation: I have two bottles... I mix them to get something that works. It also calls for a lot more steps for the rest of the routine and I can't just forget about having some kind of cream on my entire face for the rest of the day.
- Concealer: I'm still trying to use up the one I already have. I like it but also it's annoying. I'm trying to kill it.
- Loose powder: I have two. I'm trying to finish the cheaper one so I can use the better quality one that I was able to buy for really cheap.
- Contour: I want to pan my current one first before getting a new one. It's beat up and broken which is exactly why I have to use it up, to be able to say goodbye properly.
Eyes
- An eyeshadow collection needs to be carefully curated.
- I like blush more anyway. I usually wear blush really bold so I don't do much eyeshadow.
- brown eyeshadow palettes: I already have two. My collection will get boring if I get another.
- eyebrow stuff and gel eyeliner: I have enough so I don't need to go looking for some
- Chu Chu Beauty Color Quartet: the glitter has so much fallout, it's just not worth it
- Squad Squadlet: their powder formula doesn't seem to be that good
Cheeks
- cream blush: Two is enough—just a pink and a brown one. It feels icky to put on sometimes so I really don't need more.
- cream blush in pan/pot form: These just turn into messy fidget toys to me.
- cream blush in stick form: Usually the formula needs to be melted down to be able to blend properly, so I'd have to rub it on my hand instead of being able to put it directly on my face. Super messy to use
- liquid Blush: I don't think it's cute form-wise and it sound like it would be hard to blend and build-up with just my fingers.
- jelly stain blush sticks: These things are being sold for like dirt cheap because they suck.
- red dewy blush: I have enough red blushes and I can just use the red lip balm if I wanted to.
- highlighter: I love my baked blushes and my cupcake highlighter and I want to prove it by panning them.
- matte highlighter: I have the white/cream eyeshadow in one of my eyeshadow quads.
- C/K/J-Beauty blushes: These are generally too light and lacking in pigment.
- Issy powder inserts: I don't have anywhere to put them.
- Issy cream pots: These have lots of bad reviews and their shades are boring.
- Chu Chu Beauty Silk Glow Baked Blush in Ruby Gleam: The shimmery finish doesn't justify buying a shade I already have.
Lips
- lip bullets: I have enough to last me forever. That's the point of these things.
- matte liquid lipstick: Bullet form is better in terms of comfort and application.
- Chu Chu Beauty Doll Me Up lip collection: They just have bad cream/lip product reviews in general and I do not need a brand to tell me that I'm a doll.
Wishlist
These are products I am set on buying in the future once I am able to. Listing them down will help me not get tempted by other cheaper products I come across. I also write down why I think these products would be a good addition to my collection.
- Chu Chu Beauty Heart Brontour Duo in Chocolate Cake (pre-requesite: pan Shadow)
- The contour is light enough for my skin tone like C/K/J-Beauty contours
- The bronzer/brontour shade seems dark and cool-toned enough to finally fill that "brown/mud blush" role I'm missing in my blush collection.
- It's heart-shaped like the rest of my blushes.
- a plum or berry blush — dark purplish red or pink, preferrably muted
- I don't have a blush from this color family yet.
- Squad and Careline have these shades but I don't want to buy from them.
- I'm hoping Chu Chu Beauty releases a blush in this color family since they're my go-to brand. Until then I'm going to hold off from it.
