Love Pantry

I don’t want to accidentally build a large collection of makeup that I never end up using. 'Love Pantry' is essentially what I call my Project Pan.

Rules

(lu: 14 August 2024)

But what is Project Pan? It is a challenge where the goal is to completely use up your currently owned makeup and skincare products. It’s a good way to prevent overconsumption and unnecessary waste.

There are many ways to do Project Pan. Love Pantry will be my own take on it with rules I took from other people’s various approaches. (started: 22 July 2024)

On panning:
  1. Makeup doesn’t expire unless its formulation changes, dries out, starts to smell bad or causes a reaction.
  2. No hate panning. If you don’t like a product and can’t find a way to fall in love with it, give it away. Don’t force yourself to use it.
  3. Keep the empty pans and containers.
On buying:
  1. Do your research before buying something. Research the product by checking makeup blogs, Reddit, YouTube and TikTok for reviews.
    1. Think about what styles and looks you want to create with the product and how often you would wear it.
    2. Check if you already have items that can do the same thing.
    3. Think about the versatility and practicality of the item.
    4. Check if there are better products.
  2. Avoid buying cheap and sketchy cosmetics. There’s a high chance it may contain harmful materials or cause harmful effects. You will eventually feel weary about using it.
  3. Avoid buying the same shade.
